Week 5 DFS TNF - Rams @ Seahawks

For this week's Thursday matchup we could have a shootout on our hands as Jared Goff and Sean Mcvay's Rams visit CenturyLink Field to take on Russell Wilson's Seahawks. Both teams have been on fire to begin this year with both having top 10 scoring offenses in the league. For DraftKings this week, there are going to be a wide spread of lineups and Captains but I see Cooper Kupp or Russell Wilson being the highest owned Captains for the week. Let's dive in.

Potential Captains:

Tyler Lockett (DK - $14,100 Captain, $9,400 regular): Lockett is my favorite pick at Captain for this week as he offers huge potential and I don't think he will be a super popular pick at Captain. The Rams were just torched last week by the Buccaneers as they gave up 50+ points and allowed slot WR Chris Godwin to a career day. Lockett thus far has seen %65.7 of his snaps from the slot, and should gain a favorable matchup against Robey-Coleman from there. Lockett has averaged 8 targets per game but I see him getting 10+ tonight and posting solid numbers from the captain spot.

Russell Wilson(DK - $15,900 Captain, $10,600 regular): Wilson is the most expensive play for this Thursday Night matchup. I definitely think he will be well worth the price and a must have in your lineup tonight. I see Russ putting up at least 300 yards passing, 3 touchdowns, and some chances to scramble. Russell Wilson will definitely be in the majority of lineups tonight, but he is costly to have at Captain yet I think it will payoff.

Cooper Kupp(DK - $14,400 Captain, $9,600 regular): Through 4 weeks, Kupp has seen the second most targets in the NFL averaging almost 12 per game. Kupp also is top ten this year in target share, receiving 26.7%of Goff's passing targets and 20% of his targets in the red zone. Kupp runs 78% of his routes from the slot which the Seahawks have struggled to defend thus far. I prefer Kupp over Robert Woods or Brandin Cooks this week with Woods or Cooks being covered by Shaquill Griffin whose turned into quite the lockdown corner. Kupp almost guarantees huge volume and whether the Rams are ahead or behind he will receive targets from the slot.

Fades(players to stay away from):

Jared Goff(DK - $15,300 Captain, $10,200 regular) - I am definitely staying away from Goff this week as he has been statistically significantly worse playing away from home. The Rams offensive line was graded as the worst in the NFL thus far and I could see Clowney and Ziggy Ansah giving him problems all night. The Seahawks defense (DK- $4,400) could be a solid play tonight as they should get multiple sacks and probably a few INTs from Goff. Goff leads the league in turnovers so far this year and has fumbled the ball in his past ten games. He threw three INTs last week at home against the Bucs. Goff's QBR going from home to away drops roughly 34 points as he throws almost half as many TDs and twice as many INTs over the course of his career. With Seattle being arguably the toughest environment to play in the NFL, I would stay away from Goff.

Todd Gurley(DK - $13,200 Captain, $8,800 regular) - I just don't think this years Todd Gurley is the same as the workhorse Gurley of the past. Last week Gurley only had 5 carries against the Bucs and he hasn't surpassed 50 carries on the year through 4 weeks. Running behind the leagues worst Offensive Line up against the Seahawks scary front doesn't bode well for Gurley. For his price I definitely think that are better options on Thursday.

Other Recommendations:

Seahawks defense (DK- $4,400)- As I said previously, I like the Seahawks defense to be all over Goff. While the Rams will still be able to put up points, the Seattle D will definitely provide points in sacks and turnovers. I don't see the Seattle D being very highly owned this week, so they could be the play to give yourself the advantage over your competition.

Greg Zuerlein (DK - $3,400)- Greg the Leg has averaged 12 ppg so far this year and for such a cheap cost he gives you opportunities to stack your lineup with the bigger plays like Wilson or Lockett.

Will Dissly(DK - $7,600)- Dissly has been great the past two weeks seeing 15 targets and accruing 13 catches, 119 yards, and 2 TDs. Since then, the Seahawks have traded away really there only other TE, Nick Vannett so I expect Dissly to be involved tonight, especially in the red zone.

Brandin Cooks(DK - $7,800) - I think Brandin Cooks could be a great play tonight as he offers big play potential and should be away from Shaquill Griffin most of the night. I expect Griffin to be on Woods most of the game which gives the slight edge to Cooks when choosing between the two. Typically, one of the three Rams receivers has a big game, and this week I think Cook has the potential.
